The Sawai Mansingh Stadium of Jaipur, Rajasthan, is a renowned and one of the most prominent cricket stadiums of India. This stadium was built in the time of Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II and was named after him.

This stadium has been the venue for both One-day Internationals and the Test matches. The ground hosted its first Test match on 21st February, 1987, between India and Pakistan and on 2nd October, 1983, it witnessed its first ever ODI match between the same. The above test match was a solitary one in which the President of Pakistan, General Zia-ul-Haq, visited the stadium during the second day’s play to initiate his motive ‘Cricket for Peace’.
It was in this very ground, where the Indian Skipper, Mahendra Singh Dhoni scored his career best score of unbeaten 183 against Sri Lanka on 31st October, 2005.
The Sawai Mansingh stadium will be hosting 6 matches of the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy including a semi-final match as well.
This stadium serves as the home ground for the Rajasthan cricket team, which represent the state of Rajasthan in the Ranji Trophy.
