T. C. Yohannan
T. C. Yohannan, the former Indian long jumper was born on 19th May 1947 in Quilon district, Kerala. In 1969, he made his debut in the National Game. He won gold medals in both the long jump and triple jump at the International events held in Singapore. He made a new national record in the year 1973 by jumping 7.78 meters. Then again in 1974 he made a record (Asian Record) by jumping 8.07 at the Teheran Asian Games. He also represented India in the 1976 Montreal Olympics. He also won gold medals at the International Events in Tokyo, Hiroshima, Kobe, Philippines and Sibu City. At present Yohanna works in the TELCO as a Public Relationship Officer.

* The Arjuna Award in 1974.
* The Telco Veer award by the Government of Kerala.
* Honored by the Bombay and Chennai Sports Journalists Association, Lions Club, Sportsweek and the Tata Sports Club of Bombay.
