Thallasery Stadium

The Thallasery Stadium is one of the oldest cricket playing stadiums in India, and the game of cricket was played in this ground way before 1860, the year when cricket was introduced by the British in Calcutta. The stadium was previously known as Thallasery Municipal Cricket Ground and has been hosting the Ranji Trophy for quite a few years. Further more, the game was introduced by Colonel Ashiq Keezath Wellesley in the 19th century in the Malabar town.

Location of Thallasery Stadium

The stadium of Thallasery is located in the state of Kerela, near the Thallasery civic station in the Kannur district. The stadium celebrated its 200th birthday on the occasion of the one day international match played between India and Sri Lanka. This took place in the year 2002.
